What GPA Is 97%?
A 97% is an A+, which is a 4.0 GPA on the standard scale. At most schools an A+ is capped at 4.0 (the same as an A), so 97% gives you a perfect unweighted GPA.

Both A+ and A are worth 4.0 at most institutions, so a 97% and a 94% produce the same unweighted GPA.
The A+ = 4.3 exception
A few colleges award 4.3 grade points for an A+, which lets a GPA edge slightly above 4.0. This is the exception, not the rule — check your school's grading policy to be sure.
Weighted classes
If your 97% is in an Honors or AP/IB course, a weighted GPA could push the value to 4.5 or 5.0, because those classes add bonus points on top of the 4.0 base.
