The biggest mistake is using an old or generic COMSATS scale.
CUI adopted the HEC grading criteria for students admitted from Fall 2021 onward. That means the current calculator uses A = 4.00 at 85+, A- = 3.66 for 80-84, B+ = 3.33 for 75-79, and D = 1.00 for 50-53. Some older pages still mention older tables, so if you joined before Fall 2021, check your result card or examination office before trusting any online conversion.
- Use GPA for one semester: current courses only.
- Use CGPA for standing: all completed courses weighted by credit hours.
